State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has conducted a one-day seminar on Prudential Regulations here to create awareness and enhance understanding about the new Prudential Regulations in the bankers and business community.
An SBP's spokesman disclosed this here on Friday. According to him, in October last year the SBP issued the three new sets of Prudential Regulations: Prudential Regulations for Corporate and Commercial Banking, Prudential Regulations for SME Financing and Prudential Regulations for Consumer Financing.
The seminar was arranged by SBP BSC Lahore and was attended by bankers and representatives of a number of industrial and trade bodies.
The speakers from the Banking Policy Department of SBP briefed the participants about the background of the comprehensive revision of the Prudential Regulations and gave detailed presentation on all three sets Prudential Regulations.
The salient features of the new regulations were discussed at length and it was emphasised that new Prudential Regulations provide greater flexibility and discretion to the bankers in its decision making process.
