Three full benches, including the first bench to be presided over by Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui will work here on Monday and Tuesday while two full and one division bench will function for the remaining three days of next week.
The benches are to be reshuffled as the Chief Justice will move to Karachi to attend to 'chamber work' for the remaining week and his bench will be replaced by one comprising Justice Rana Baghwandas, Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Muhammad Raza Khan.
The latter will, however, not serve on the bench on Thursday and Friday and the first bench will be reduced to two members.
The petition of All Pakistan Newspapers Society against 7th Wage Board and also the condition of service law of the newspaper employees does not appear in the list.
The week will begin with Asif Ali Zardari's appeal in one of the cases instituted against him by the National Accountability Bureau.
Another important case listed for Tuesday is the Government appeal against the acquittal of former Air Marshal Waqar Azeem and some other persons. The case pertains to some bank loans.
There are about 100 appeals from the Mineral Development Corporation against the decisions of the lower courts favouring the same number of employees who were retired some years ago under a government downsizing scheme. The hearing is fixed before the Second bench for Thursday.
Similarly, the Pakistan Telecommunications Corporation Limited (PTCL) is appealing in service matter involving 15 of its former employees and Third Bench will take up the case on Tuesday.
The composition of benches on Monday and Tuesday will be:
First Bench: Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui, Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.
Second Bench: Justice Rana Baghwandas, Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan.
Third Bench: Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Falak Sher.
For the remaining three days the following benches will function:
First bench: Justice Rana Baghwandas, Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan.
Second Bench: Justice Syed Deedar Hussain Shah, Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Falak Sher, and
Third Bench: Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.
The last bench will also hear a collective appeal of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) against the Federal Service Tribunal that had favour 38 of its former employees in service matter.
