Criminal cases to be registered against several government officials

Additional Director, Anti-Corruption Establishment, Multan Region, Syed Masood Ali Shah, on Saturday ordered registration of criminal cases against several government functionaries and private persons on charges of corruption.
These functionaries included District Zakat Officer Bahawalnagar, a headmistress, two Patwaris, a police officer and several others.
It is alleged that Bahawalnagar Zakat Officer Latif Khan, his stenographer Ikram, chairman Zakat and Ushr committee Nazir Ahmed and others received Rs 6,000 as bribe from one Mohammad Ramazan for issuing rehabilitation aid amounting to Rs 30,000, which sum was also embezzled.
Mohammad Amin, Auditor, Fort Abbas, Bahawalnagar, along with accomplices allegedly misappropriated Zakat money to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
A Chishtian school headmistress Samina Wahid received Rs 62,000 bribe for appointment of one Mst Irshad Khanum, who was not appointed.
Ghulam Mohammad, Patwari, Karor Pucca, transferred 54 kanal land of Khalid Hussain to Mukhtiar Hussain, wrongfully, while Patwari Mohammad Afzal of Chishtian embezzled mutation fee to the tune of Rs 14,000.
ASI Riaz Jaglani of Zahirpir police took Rs 16,000 bribe to release one Mohammad Faraz, who was implicated in a false case.
Mueen Khan, a clerk at Bahauddin Zakariya University, took Rs 6,000 as bribe to get a candidate passed in the B Ed exam.
A court bailiff of Rahim Yar Khan, Akram Khan, misappropriated the decree sum of Rs 65,000 in favour of Mst Mumtaz Bibi.
The Additional Director ACE ordered that criminal cases be registered against the accused and that they be arrested at the earliest.
