Jamali to lead Pakistani delegation in D-8 conference

In connection with the preparations of D-8 leaders' conference, a meeting of commissioners of D-8 countries was held on Sunday in Tehran.
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will lead the Pakistan delegation in the conference.
In the meeting, recommendations were formulated for the agenda of the conference.
The recommendations of the experts group for the preferential trade between the member countries were given final shape during the meeting. It was decided that in future, every meeting of D-8, held twice a year, the business forum will also be associated.
This would lead to greater co-operation and relations between traders and industrialists of the member countries.
The meeting was informed that during next few months, Pakistan will arrange three seminars on Drip irrigation, WTO and medium scale commercial organisations.
This was stated by Tariq Usman Haider, Pakistan's D-8 commissioner and additional secretary, foreign affairs, while giving details of the meeting to PTV.
He said it has been decided that Tehran declaration would be given final shape. He said preferential trade between D-8 countries was very important.
He said next meeting about preferential trade would be held in Pakistan.
Tariq said the visit of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali was very important with regard to bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan and the key role of Pakistan in D-8 conference.
Pakistan ambassador to Iran Iqbal Ahmad Khan said that the main objective of D-8 conference was to promote economic and cultural relations by ensuring conducive and peaceful environment.
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali during stay in Iran would hold meetings with Iranian President. This would be his third meeting with the Iranian President, he said.
