A two-day international symposium on Water Resources Management will begin from Monday at a local hotel. According to programme, this symposium is being organised by various national and international organisations working on water-related issues.
This is a partnership effort by UNDP, DFID, Rural Support Network (RSPN), Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI).
Federal Water and Power Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao will be the chief guest at the inaugural session.
The purpose of the symposium is to look at serious water issues such as scarcity and sub-optimal utilisation.
It will focus on problems, issues and possibilities at the grass-roots level relating to water issues.
This provides an enormous opportunity of bringing about efficiency of water use, prevent pollution and find local solutions for the communities facing urgent problems related to water that are faced by the communities.
