NGOs planning relief work for quake victims

16 Feb, 2004

Various non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Karachi, which participate in relief and care arrangements, are chalking out plans for collection of cash and relief goods for earthquake victims in NWFP.
The relatives of residents in the affected towns of NWFP and Northern Areas have been calling their homes by telephone to find out what is the situation there now.
Meanwhile, many people with relief goods on an individual basis have left by special coach services from Karachi to Northern Areas.
Reports reaching here show that road communications between many of the affected areas, including areas in Kaghan and Mansehra have been affected by landslides.
