A 17-member Gem & Jewellery delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), led by its former vice-president Mohammad Ali Mian, will undertake tour of China and Hong Kong from the 24th of this month.
The LCCI president Mian Anjum Nisar said that India was fetching over 9 billion dollars share from the world market of gem and jewellery whereas Pakistan lagging far behind at about 400 million dollars despite the fact that Pakistan has natural resources of precious stones and expertise in abundance.
The LCCI, hence, has planned to pay a special attention to promote this sector, he said.
The LCCI delegation would not only introduce Pakistani products at the world market but would also woo foreign investors to make investment here, says a spokesman of the Chamber here on Thursday.
The convener of the LCCI standing committee on gem & jewellery Moinuddin would be the deputy leader of the delegation.
