The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL) is mobilising more than Rs 4 billion during current fiscal period on the accomplishment of various development projects in Punjab and NWFP.
Official sources told Business Recorder on Friday night at village Butter that 2,000-km-long distribution pipeline would be laid in Punjab and NWFP, adding the development work is in full swing, and it would be completed within the stipulated period.
Under the programme, about 0.135 million domestic, 3,000 commercial and 200 industrial connections would be provided to the big and small industrial units in both provinces.
Apart from this, under Prime Minister's special fund as many as 111 schemes would be completed at a cost of over Rs 1 billion, and work on these schemes is in full swing in various parts.
Under the special directives of the federal government, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline had formulated a strategy for ensuring the basic facility of Sui gas to the general public and commercial as well as industrial units of the country, said the sources, adding it has also planned to conduct door-to-door survey for the checking the leakage of gas, and the survey teams have already completed about 70 percent survey.
