Cracks among the ranks of Muslim Conference, the ruling party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), have appeared as two cabinet ministers resigned in protests against the alleged nepotism by the Prime Minister, Sardar Sikandar Hayat.
Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and Chaudhry Masood Khalid presented their resignations to former AJK president and senior party leader Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan at his residence on Tuesday, sources told Sana.
"We are resigning from our responsibilities because Sikandar Hayat is pursuing discriminatory policies.
He (Sikandar Hayat) believes in favouritism and giving least attention to our problems," quoting the resigned ministers sources said.
The ministers also criticised the policies of the AJK government towards the issue of Mangla Dam extension.
