Arrangements for South Asian Management Forum reviewed

The members of the steering committee of the Association of Management Development Institutions in Pakistan (AMDIP) in a meeting here on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements for 8th South Asian Management Forum 2004 to be held at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in November this year.
The AMDIP and LUMS are jointly hosting the forum to be held first time in Pakistan with the theme 'Developing Synergies: Facing Management Challenges Together'.
The inaugural session will be held at the Punjab University on November 28 while the remaining programmes will be held at the LUMS. Over 500 management experts across the country and abroad will attend the forum and read their papers.
The steering committee members Vice-chancellor LUMS Dr Zahoor Hassan, Dean LUMS Dr Ehsan-ul-Haque, Director Centre for Management Development Naseem Zafar Iqbal and Rector University of Management Technology (previously ILM) Dr Hassan Sohaib Murad, who is also the president of AMDIP, attended the meeting chaired by Director IBA Punjab University Professor Dr Muhammad Eshan Malik.
About the forum, Professor Ehsan Malik said it would promote linkages and co-operation among the Saarc countries.
About the AMDIP, he said the mission of the association is to provide a network to the management education institutions across the country.
He said the AMDIP's priority was to promote management development and education in Pakistan.
AMDIP was formed in 2001, by a team of leading educationists and management experts with the vision of management development in Pakistan.
The association was playing an important and meaningful role in the country's economic, social and cultural advancement through exchange of ideas and experiences at regional, national and international levels, he added.
