The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed superintendent Kot Lakhpat jail to arrange medical examination of mentally ill Nisar Ahmed and also produce him before the court on Thursday, February 26.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by one Nazir Hussain praying to the court to direct the respondent superintendent jail to produce him before the court and also set him at liberty.
The petitioner through his counsel M. D. Tahir contended that Nisar is a mentally ill person but some police officials stationed at Phoolnagar badly tortured him.
He prayed to the court to take necessary action against the respondents for torturing him illegally.
The court, after hearing petitioner's counsel at length directed the jail superintendent to arrange his medical examination and also produce him before the court on next date of hearing.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed bail application of Khalid Shahbaz involved in fraud of millions of rupees by deceiving the people.
The petitioner and his father Shahbaz-ud-din were dealing in money exchange business in Saudi Arabia.
They collected millions of rupees from the people for transaction in their amounts from Saudi Arabia to other countries. However, they escaped from Saudi Arabia and reached Pakistan. One Iqtidar Hussain chased them and got registered a criminal case against them.
