The Deputy Registrar of Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, has rejected the application regarding the opening of the first information report (FIR) filed against Major Islam-ul-Haq (retd), former Principal Staff Officer of nuclear scientist, Dr A Q Khan, and provision of a copy of this FIR to the petitioner.
The Deputy Registrar has raised objection that the applicant, under the relevant law, should contact the duty magistrate of the area and seek the copy of the FIR.
He also said that the High Court would not directly hear the application.
The counsel of the applicant pleaded that they had contacted all the relevant authorities for getting the copy of the FIR, but no positive response was given to the applicant.
He said that the process of filing the FIR was looking doubtful so that the august court should direct the concerned authorities to provide the copy of the FIR.
