Several months back the provincial government decided to appoint lecturers on emergency basis to meet the acute shortage in the colleges of entire province.
In the middle of last year male and female candidates applied for jobs. Their applications followed by a written test and then those who passed the test were to give an interview for selection.
The candidates gave the written test in December 2003 and the result was announced in January 2004.
Now the successful candidates are looking forward for an interview so that they can start their jobs for which the provincial government was working on emergency basis.
There is no hope of conducting interviews in the near future as promised by the education department that was supposed to start from February 23, 2004.
The students are suffering as usual and now the new session is about to start in April.
The emergency arrangement of lecturers has not been made for the last about six to eight months and the session will end in about the same period.
If it is a story of work done on emergency basis by our provincial government, one can imagine what would happen to regular employment.
The concerned authorities should become active and show their responsibility at least in education. We talk about education for all but how it is to be done, nobody here knows.
