The Minister of State for Sports, Culture, Tourism, Minorities and Youth Affairs, Rais Munir Ahmed, on Sunday said the government has explored the potential of tourism in southern parts of the country like deserts of Sindh and Balochistan which are great attraction for the foreign tourists.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the minister said all necessary steps would be taken to promote tourism in the far-flung areas of all the provinces especially in Balochistan, adding the beauty of these areas will be projected at the international level.
He said the plan is under consideration to arrange desert safari to highlight Cholistan's culture, adding the development work is being carried out to introduce recreational facilities on the beaches of the country to promote tourism.
The minister said Gawadar has a great potential for tourism, adding: "We intend to construct a Tourist Complex at Gawadar port to develop the scope of tourism in the area."
Rais Munir said the proposals for establishment of PTDC motels at Harrapa and Nankana Sahib are also under consideration.
