Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday said the government has been striving hard for political stability and economic prosperity in the country.
He was talking to 18-member delegation belonging to various districts of Sindh and Balochistan, which met him here at the Prime Minister's House.
Jamali said the present government is fully alive to the problems being faced by the people particularly, relating to the unemployment and devising appropriate strategies in this regard.
He expressed the confidence that the mega development projects being executed in Balochistan that would help in resolving the issue of unemployment adequately, and these projects would also be instrumental in improving the quality of life of the people.
The prime minister categorically said the jobs would be given purely on merit which alone forms the guiding principle of his government, calling upon the youth to spare no effort in equipping themselves with quality education in order to face future challenges.
Jamali said the development of backward areas remained on top of the agenda of the government, and a number of major projects have been initiated in this regard.
The delegation apprised the prime minister of the problems being faced by the people in their respective areas especially with regard to provision of gas, electricity, drinking water and construction of roads.
Jamali assured them that all out efforts would be made for provision of basic necessities of life along with launching schemes for uplift of agriculture, grant of farm loans and availability of tube-wells and fertiliser to farmers.
