9th Muharram procession held amid tight security

A large procession was held here on Monday, 9th Muharramul Harram, to mourn the incidents of Karbala in which Hazrat Imam Hussain (A S) along with his family and companions were martyred for supporting truth and upholding of Islam.
Thousands of mourners, who gathered at Nishtar Park from different areas of the city in the morning, started their march by 1 pm onto Empress Market (Saddar) via M.A. Jinnah road and again they came to Jinnah road from Tibet Center chowk to continue their procession culminating at Imambargah, Hussainian-e-Iranian in Kharadar area at around 7 pm.
The mourners carried Alam Zuljinnah and Tazia to signify the incident of Shahadat-I-Imam Hussain (A.S) and his companions.
Earlier, Allama Talib Jauhri delivered his sermon/speech to the Majalis at Nishtar Park.
Anwar Ali, senior organiser of these processions and Majalis, said that on Tuesday the central Majlis would start at Nishtar Park at 6 am.
From there at around 9 am the mourners would start a procession for Central Imam Bargah Hussainian-e-Iranian at Kharadar via the same route adopted on Monday where they would listen to a "Majlis Sham-e-Ghareebaan" which would continue till late night.
The other Sham-e-Ghareebaan Majlis would be held in Nazimabad under the auspices of Anjuman-e-Sajjadia, he said.
The 9th Muharram procession on ended peacefully amid tight security arrangements made on the occasion.
