Dr Bettina Robotka, a Scholar of Modern South Asian History from Humboldt University Berlin, called on the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh on Thursday and discussed the collaborative research work on history of Germany and Pakistan.
Dr Bettina said that Dr Annemarie Schimmel as well as Elsa Kazi were great scholars and due to their research work on the history of Sindh as well Pakistan, there were many academic and intellectual linkages between Germany and Pakistan and it is needed that the same linkages should continue.
She said the German students would like to know about the history of Pakistan in addition its culture and traditions.
Dr Robotka, who is also a member of Pak-German Forum, said she is also working for the better image of Pakistan in Germany. She expressed her interest to work on the life of Elsa Kazi for the guidance and knowledge of her students.
The German scholar held the hospitality of people of Pakistan in high esteem and added that she would always love visiting Pakistan.
The Vice Chancellor, Mazhar Siddiqui welcoming the scholar said that the research work of Dr Annemarie Schimmel on Sufis, history of Sindh as well as Pakistan, work on Elsa Kazi and the scholarly work of Dr Ernest Trump on the poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai would always remembered in golden words.
In connection with the establishment of the inter-linkages between the University of Sindh and Humboldt University of Berlin, the Vice Chancellor said that soon a meeting of the Institute of Sindhology, Department of History would be convened to discuss this issue.
