NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the province will get its due share in the NFC Award which is one of the achievements of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government, adding that we involved all the political parties in the struggle for the provincial rights.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the construction of Budni and Warsak Road on Thursday. MNA Qari Fayaz-ur-Rehman Alvi, NWFP Minister Hafiz Hashmat Khan, MPAs Khalid Waqar Chamkani, Maulana Amanullah and Iftikhar Khan Jhagra were also present.
The chief minister said that because of our untiring efforts Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has agreed to settle net profit on hydle power generation issue through arbitration.
We have appointed committed and honest people to negotiate with the Authority on the issue.
The Chief Minister hoped that Wapda would increase the share. He said that increase in resources will remove the backwardness of the province and basic amenities will be provided to the people at their doorstep.
Criticising those who used MMA as ladder for reaching power corridor, the chief minister said that corruption cases are still pending against them in the NAB.
He said that the MMA preferred implementation of Shariah and service of people over deputy prime Minister-ship and federal ministries.
The chief minister said that he had remained twice opposition member of the provincial assembly and there is no change in his past and present statements about the provincial rights adding if someone proved, he would quit the chief minister-ship.
Highlighting the MMA government's policies for the uniform development of all districts of the province, the chief minister said that funds have been distributed equally among all the districts but preference is being given to backward and neglected areas of the province.
