Minister hails Ulema's role during Ashura

Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Muhammad Zaheer-ud-Din Khan has said that the credit of the peaceful observance of "Yaum-e-Ashur" in district Faisalabad goes to the Ulema belonging to different schools of thought, traders, District Peace Committee and patriotic citizens.
In result of whose maximum and exemplary unity and co-operation, the sentiments of religious tolerance and harmony and fraternity got momentum and the over-all climate of law and order remained very peaceful during "Ashra-e-Muharram" throughout the district.
Expressing his feelings of utmost gratefulness for the religious strata, Ulema, Mashaikh, social and business circles, district government and Tehsil Municipal Administration authorities, members of Peace Committees, Police Force, civil defence razakars, elected local bodies' representatives, political workers, different other segments of the society and the people he paid rich applause for their peace loving efforts and said that every Muslim held a great honour and respect in their hearts for "Yaum-e-Ashur" and "Ahl-e-Bait".
He said that the heart of every Muslim was filled with grief and sorrow during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram while listening about the sad events of Karbala.
Under these circumstances the need of solidarity, tolerance, patience, love and unity increased manifold keeping in view the sanctity and reverence of "Ashura". He said that by fulfilling their responsibilities in a positive manner all the strata of the society had proved that they were fully united against sectarianism and disturbance in law and order situation.
Appreciating the broadmindedness and religious tolerance of Ulema belonging to different schools of thought he said that their participation in the "Majalis" of "Ahl-e-Tasheeh", during "Ashra-e-Muharram" had created the pleasant atmosphere of solidarity, unity and harmony.
He said that this fragrance of love, sectarian harmony and unity would play a vital role for wiping off the hatred and malice from the hearts.
He hoped that Ulema of different sects, members of Peace Committees and people belonging to different fields of life would also demonstrate the same sense of an excellent co-operation, mutual unity and religious harmony even in future so that national solidarity and unity could be strengthened and no mischievous element could get an opportunity to disturb our national unity and peace.
He appreciated the performance of TMA (City) for making fine arrangements of cleanliness and streetlights etc in the city and praised the efforts of district police for making foolproof security arrangements and implementing them in true spirits.
He also visited different areas of the city accompanied by the DIG and DPO for monitoring the arrangements made in connection with Muharram-ul-Haram, and found all the arrangements of cleanliness and security etc on the routes of Muharram processions very satisfactory.
Strongly condemning the sad incidents of Quetta and Phalia, the minister said that no true Muslim could even think of such shameful activities.
He said that anti-Islamic and anti-state elements wanted to create unrest through their nefarious activities so all of us should keep unity among our ranks to foil their evil conspiracies by demonstrating complete patience and tolerance.
