Chinese ambassador Zhang Chunxiang called on Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro at his Chamber in the Parliament House here on Thursday.
Matters of mutual interest and bilateral co-operation in various fields came under discussion during the meeting.
The Chinese ambassador delivered a letter from Chairman CPPCC, Jia Qinglin, extending an invitation to the Chairman Senate to visit China as a leader of parliamentary delegation.
The Chairman Senate accepted the invitation. The date and other details of the visit would be finalised through diplomatic channel.
The Chairman Senate on the occasion said that Pakistan-China friendship had withstood the test of time and was based on complete trust and understanding.
He appreciated valuable Chinese assistance to Pakistan and especially in the field of defence and development of Gawadar Deep Seaport, coal, Saindak copper and gold projects.
Soomro lauded the personal efforts and contribution of Chinese ambassador in further promoting the close friendly ties between the two countries.
The Chinese ambassador said that the proposed visit by the Chairman Senate to China would contribute to further strengthen Pakistan-China relations.
He further said that frequent exchange of delegations between the two countries reflected that both countries were determined to further promote and consolidate the existing bonds of co-operation in various fields.
