The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has been invited by the Chinese government to attend a four-day carpet exhibition starting from July 09 in Beijing.
Invitation was extended to the LCCI Senior Vice-President (VP), Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman by a three-member Chinese delegation, which called upon him here on Friday. Miss Li Qing led the delegation, according to a spokesman of the Chamber.
Accepting the invitation, LCCI VP said that carpet weaving was progressing day by day in Pakistan and joint ventures between Pakistan and China could deliver better results.
Both the parties agreed that Pakistani and Chinese carpet industry had same heritage hence they should go into the international market as companions instead of being competitors.
Other members of the delegation included Zhou Zhi Jun, General Administration Department, Shinghai Tibetan Sheep Carpets (Group) Ltd, Ou Meng, Director General of China Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Akhtar Niaz, Vice-Chairman (N.C.) Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers & Exporters Association.
