Marriage grant cheques given to workers

District Nazim Chaudhry Zahid Nazir has said that the decision to give marriage grants to all the daughters of the industrial workers was a clear proof of labour-friendly policies of the Punjab government and the District Government was providing these grants to the eligible applicants in a transparent manner.
He stated this while addressing the participants of a ceremony held here in the local circuit house for distributing cheques worth Rs 7.740 million among 258 industrial workers of Faisalabad district.
The District Nazim said that the workers were playing a key role in strengthening the national economy and seriously realising the problems and difficulties being faced by them the government had expanded the scope of several welfare policies enabling them to perform their professional duties efficiently and devotedly.
He said that since the inception of the District Government, an amount of Rs 38.260 million had been provided to the industrial workers of the district as marriage grants.
Lauding the services and efforts of the District Labour & Human Resource Board made in connection with the quick implementation of different policies announced by the government for industrial workers, he said that the noble mission of providing the rights to the labourers honestly would continue with the national spirit.
Earlier district labour officer Muhammad Aslam Javed shed light over the on-going welfare schemes for the industrial workers in the district.
Later, District Nazim Ch. Zahid Nazir, EDO (Community Development) Ch.Shabbir Ahmad, DO Labour Muhammad Aslam Javed, chairman Monitoring Committee for Labour Sharafat Ali Khan Khattak, members of the District Labour & Human Resource Board Mrs Shahnaz Sajid, lmdad Awan, Shahbaz Ahmad distributed marriage grant cheques among the workers.
