Modest fluctuations marked on commodity markets

Modest fluctuations were marked on the commodity wholesale markets during the week ended on March 13, 2004.
The commodities underwent changes were rice fine and coarse, juwar, masoor dal imported, wheat, beetle chana I, beetle 50x50, gram and dal, bajra Khandsari, plastic mouldings, kirana items, dry fruits, rape seed and cotton cakes.
PLASTIC MOULDINGS: HDPE film Saudia 952 up Rs 1.25 to Rs 33.25, Mobil up same amount to Rs 33.25, TR 144 up Rs 1.12 to Rs 32.62, HDPE injection Sabic 200056 up Re 1 to Rs 32, Mobil 016 up same amount to Rs 32.
Thai up 75 paisa to Rs 31.75, HDPE blow Kuwait up 75 paisa to Rs 33.25, Marlex up 75 paisa to Rs 32.75, and Iran up Re 1 to Rs 31.50, PP film up Re 1 to Rs 33, Kuwait up same amount to Rs 33 and India up Re 1 to Rs 33.
PP tape grade India up Rs 125 to Rs 32.25, Kuwait up same amount to Rs 32.75, Saudia up Rs 1.25 to Rs 32.25.
PP injection grade Saudia up Rs 1.50 to Rs 33, India up Rs 1.25 to Rs 32.75, Kuwait up Rs 1.50 to Rs 33.
Polystyrene BASF up Rs 80 to Rs 2080, Copoly Randon up 50 paisa to Rs 38.50, high impact BASF quoted down at Rs 2000, ABS polylac 707 up Rs 60 to Rs 1940 and Khumo up Rs 35 to Rs 1920.
TEA PRICES: Kenyan PF-1 A grade down Rs 14 to Rs 177, B grade down Rs 4 to Rs 158.
BP-1 A grade down Rs 2 to Rs 230, B grade down Rs 2 to Rs 216, Plus C grade down same amount to Rs 180, and C grade lost Rs 2 to Rs 162, D-1 A grade down Rs 4 to Rs 231, B grade down Re 1 to Rs 194.

Broken rice irri white inferior up Rs 20 to Rs 950, and better quoted at Rs 1000, rapeseed Nawabshah up Rs 15 to Rs 728, better up same amount to Rs 735, Til Sindh quoted down at Rs 1650 and better at Rs 1825.
Cotton cakes down Rs 5 to Rs 445 and better down same amount to Rs 455, yellow peas inferior up Rs 10 to Rs 1460, better up Rs 10 to Rs 1490, dal yellow peas up Rs 10 to Rs 1560 and better quoted at Rs 1590.
Rapeseed Mirpur up Rs 25 to Rs 735, and better up Rs 20 to Rs 740, rapeseed cakes up Rs 5 to Rs 250 and better quoted at Rs 253.
HIDE AND SKINS: Following are the hide and skins market quotation for the month of January 2004 received at our end on February 25, 2004 depicting mixed trend.
The wet salted goat skins fluctuated both ways showing extra large (per piece) category II lost Rs 30 to Rs 270, III cat up Rs 70 to Rs 190, large II up Rs 80 to Rs 25 and III up Rs 40 to Rs 140, medium category I unchanged at Rs 175, II lost 20 to Rs 210 and III lost Rs 40 to Rs 70, small I lost Rs 5 to Rs 115, II shed same amount to Rs 45, sheep skins extra large I gained Rs 70 to Rs 460 and II up Rs 80 to Rs 350, large I up Rs 110 to Rs 400, II up Rs 60 to Rs 300, medium I lost Rs 120 to Rs 320, II down Rs 45 to Rs 215, small I down Rs 5 to Rs 125 and II was quoted unchanged at Rs 65.
Buffalo hides extra large I lost Rs 150 to Rs 1950, II shed same amount to Rs 1600 and III was up Rs 50 to Rs 1300 large I quoted at Rs 1450.
II quoted at Rs 1050, medium unchanged at Rs 900 II unchanged at Rs 700, small I and II quoted at Rs 550 and Rs 500 respectively.
COW HIDES: extra large I lost Rs 900 to Rs 2100, II lost same amount to Rs 1800, large I lost Rs 500 to Rs 2000, II lost Rs 700 to Rs 1600, medium I down Rs 250 to Rs 1800 and II down Rs 550 to Rs 1500, and small I down Rs 450 to Rs 1100 and II lost Rs 550 to Rs 800.
The prices indicated above are average and can vary to the extent of 20 percent more or less than above prices, depending on the mark and standard of tanneries from size, grade, selection and range.
The mark/standing of various tanneries differ according to their tannage and selection standards:

FULL CREAM INSTANT: Bale Vole up Rs 50 to Rs 1950, Bale Haleeb up same amount to Rs 4000, Bailie Gold up Rs 50 to Rs 4000, Corolac quoted at Rs 4200, Milko Veg up Rs 125 to Rs 2775, Kirana items black pepper from Singapore up Rs 50 to Rs 18000, big cardamom down Rs 200 to Rs 10,000 cloves up Rs 200 to Rs 9500, dry ginger from China up Rs 200 to Rs 5200, isbaghol bhoosi up Rs 100 to Rs 7500, and aniseed up Rs 650 to Rs 5750, and sago down Rs 10 to Rs 1040.
Sugar inferior up Rs 10 to Rs 1560, and better up Rs 5 to Rs 1625, broken irri white inferior gained Rs 10 to Rs 970 and better up Rs 25 to Rs 1025.
Beetle dal up Rs 100 to Rs 1750, gram dal inferior dropped Rs 50 to Rs 1700 and better dropped Rs 70 to Rs 1730, wheat old was quoted at Rs 1230, wheat new quoted at Rs 12100, Til Sindh better type quoted at Rs 1950.
PLASTIC MOULDINGS: PP tape grade India down 63 paisa to Rs 31.62, Kuwait down same amount to Rs 31.62, Saudia down 63 paisa to Rs 31.75, PP injection grade Saudia down nearly 15 paisa to Rs 32.87, India lost 13 paisa to Rs 32.62, and Kuwait quoted at Rs 33, copoly black up 50 paisa to Rs 35 and randon up Rs 1.50 to Rs 40.
Saturday's trading reports were not received due to Indo-Pak cricket match.
