Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) has started receiving remarkable response from the industrialists, traders, exporters and importers for participation in the Businessman of the Year Award and Export Trophy Award function announced by the body.
This was disclosed by SCCI chief Adeel Rauf while talking to newsmen here at his office on Monday.
He told newsmen that the gold medal and export trophy award function was being held for the first time in the history of the Sarhad Chamber. He said: "A large number of businessmen is showing interest to participate in it."
CRITERIA: "Merit-based rules and regulations have been prepared for all those who are vying for participation in this event, he said, adding, "the awards would be given to real businessmen and the only criteria for winning the awards is best performance in business."
Replying a question, the SCCI chief said that the award would be given on the basis of largest investment in industrial sector. It would be given to the best exporter, big payer of sales and income tax and big shopkeepers.
He said that interested businessmen should apply along with non-refundable Rs 1000 and other required documents. The application and amount should be submitted with the Award Committee of the Sarhad Chamber.
Replying another question, the SCCI chief said that the scrutiny of the applications would be conducted in very fair and impartial manner and priority would be given to the businessmen having distinction in their concerned field. Similarly, he said that the winners of the awards would be decided purely on merit.
"This first award-giving function would not only encourage the businessmen, but would also provide them better business opportunities and ultimately their business would be promoted, which would also help stabilise national economy," the SCCI chief maintained.
He said that the details of the fortunate businessmen would not only be published in all national dailies but also in the bulletin of the Sarhad Chamber, whose copies would be sent to all foreign embassies, high commissions, government departments, commercial banks and different chambers.
The SCCI chief also requested the print and electronic media of the country that in larger interest of the province they should extend full co-operation to the Sarhad Chamber and make this important event a success.
