US investors and traders arrive in Lahore

A 15-member delegation of US investors and traders arrived here on Monday on a five-day visit to Pakistan to explore investment avenues and promote bilateral trade.
Iftikhar Ali Malik, the chairman of Pak-US Business Council and former president Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) stated this here.
The delegation led by Dr Herbert Davis, Managing Director, South Asia Affairs, US Chamber of Commerce, Washington, will meet federal finance and commerce ministers and other concerned officials on March 16. They will later visit Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and meet business leaders from Peshawar, Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro will hold a luncheon reception in honour of the visitors.
The US delegation on March 16 will visit Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and attend a luncheon by the Punjab Governor. The same evening they will meet business leaders at the office of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at Karachi.
Members of the US team representing communication, Information Technology, energy and telecommunication sectors will hold a series of detailed meetings and one-on-one interaction with Pak businessmen.
Malik said that the US team's visit is a follow up of President Pervez Musharraf's and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali's visits to the United States last year, along with Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz who addressed the US Chambers of Commerce at Washington and invited American investment in different sectors in Pakistan.
