Jamiat Mashaikh Pakistan demands national government

17 Mar, 2004

Jamiat Mashaikh Pakistan (JMP) chief Pir Fazal Haq has alleged that Jamali government is creating hurdles in the way of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif coming back to Pakistan.
"Present rulers know political worth of both the exiled premiers hence they don't want their returns," he observed.
Talking to reporters at Mashaikh's central secretariat here on Tuesday, he said that the regime by keeping Asif Ali Zardari behind the bars is politically black mailing Benazir Bhutto.
He said that next month ie April will be crucial for the rulers. He suggested the government to step down voluntarily and announce national government of national consensus.
Replying a question, Pir Fazl said Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Hafiz Hussain Ahmed are clowns of PML-Q and MMA respectively. As far as reconciliation between ARD and MMA is concerned, he said their alliance will be un-natural as MMA had already become part of the present government.
