President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Adeel Rauf has urged the United States and European Union to simplify the system of export for Pakistan in general and NWFP in particular to help remove hurdles in export to these countries.
The SCCI chief was addressing on the occasion of the presentation given by Chief Technical Advisor, UNCTAD Irfan Naqvi here at Sarhad Chamber said a press release issued here on Thursday. Chief of Trade and Transport Facilitation Project of UNCTAD, Will Keenan was also present on the occasion.
He said that no doubt after 9/11 trade and business policies of the world have witnessed sudden change and all countries of the world including United States and European Union also introduced security system under the name of Homeland Security Department.
The system has explained the procedure of safe distribution of the imported goods to these countries.
Adeel Rauf said that the goods supply under the new security system of the United States and European Union would be further simplified through dividing it into three categories.
He said that cargo goods would be delivered at seaport 24-hour before the landing into the desired country.
Similarly, he called for container security and information regarding high risk through strong intelligence and automatic system, so that the prohibited goods would be seized even before reaching on seaport.
Further, he also called for the establishment of co-operation between customs authorities and traders.
On this occasion, he also briefed the participants regarding the awarding gold medals to best exporter and investor and export trophy.
