With a view to check public complaints and closely monitor the working of officials of Motor Branch, close circuit camera has been installed in the office of Motor Registering Authority (MRA) Lahore.
Sources in the MRA office said here on Friday that this step has been taken in pursuance of directions of Secretary Excise and Taxation Punjab (E&T) Sami Saeed, who expressed 'displeasure' over the affairs in Motor Branch Lahore.
The sources said that close circuit cameras would also be linked up with the offices of secretary E&T and Director General E&T Punjab in order to ensure strict supervisory control over the affairs of Motor Branch Lahore.
"The state of affairs of Motor Branch Lahore as well as other MRA offices have improved due to good governance ensured by present high ups of the E&T department," the sources claimed.
According to them, the E&T department was working on a comprehensive plan to facilitate the motoring public and also to extend them maximum facilities, apart from purging corrupt practices from different offices.
