Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said here Sunday that ongoing Pak-India cricket series was being contested in true spirit of the game and people around the globe are enjoying this thrilling cricket.
Talking to newsmen at Gadaffi stadium during the fourth one day international, he said, the series is being played in a peaceful manner which has proved that law and order situation in Pakistan is ideal for elite sporting events.
Top security was provided to the visiting teams in the past and the Indian team is also being provided tight security and it is good to see that high profile cricket is being played in a smooth manner," he said.
The Minister said cricket event should be taken as a sporting event and it should be the source of entertainment.
Victory and defeat go hand in hand and people should not involve their sentiments in its," he added.
Federal Minister for Interior, Faisal Saleh Hayat said the Indian team is being provided top security and cricket is being played in its true spirit.
"We made good arrangements to look after the Indian spectators," he said and added: "All the matches were held in a smooth manner.
Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz in his brief talk with the newsmen said, "it is a good omen and a heartening sign that Pakistan and India are playing cricket after a long gap."
He said the ongoing series would foster friendly ties between the two countries.
