Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) has warned the government to arrest the dacoits involved in dacoity incident in a local ghee industry, otherwise industrialists from the Lahore Township industrial area would be forced to close down their units.
According to a spokesman of the association, this demand was raised at an emergent meeting held here on Saturday, to express their resentment over incident of dacoity occurred in a local ghee industry Saturday morning. The association Chairman Ahsan Mehmood Butt chaired the meeting.
The participants of the meeting alleged that dacoits have once again targeted the industrial area and police seemed to be helpless before them.
Speaking on this occasion, Ahsan Mehmood Butt said that dacoits forced their entry in the ghee mill, locked the officials in a room and fled away with hundred of thousands of rupees in cash.
He said that there was a sense of insecurity and concern amongst the industrialists because many such incidents have already occurred in the area but police never succeeded to arrest the dacoits.
Ahsan Mehmood Butt said that in the past industrialist Zahid Hafeez was kidnapped for ransom and later he was murdered.
Similarly a young industrialist Anwar Azeem was murdered after kidnapping. Besides, cars of various industrialists were snatched but no culprit involved in any single incident was arrested, he alleged.
He called upon the Chief Minister Punjab, Pervaiz Ellahi and IG Punjab that if they wanted to see industry working, then arrest the culprits at the earliest, who are involved in dacoity of ghee industry. Otherwise industrialists would be forced to take a direct action, he concluded.
