No match-fixing: Shaharyar

23 Mar, 2004

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M. Khan while refuting the allegation of match fixing in Sunday's match, has stated that victory or defeat was part of the game.
While addressing a news conference here on Monday, Shaharyar said that official sale of tickets for the fifth One-Day International (ODI) to be played on Wednesday, March 24, had been closed, therefore people should not go to buy tickets, as a good number of bogus tickets were being sold by some unscrupulous elements for the fourth ODI.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Lahore in particular and other cities in general for showing sportsman spirit during the recent matches, he said this spirit should continue to be exhibited in the coming matches.
About inconvenience faced by people during Sunday's match, he said special arrangements were being made to facilitate the visitors. More entry and exit points were being made, while provision of water etc has been ensured.
He said that PCB had issued special passes to former Test cricketers for watching the final ODI.
