The Pakistani Ambassador, Ashraf Jehangir Qazi on Wednesday held separate meetings with four members of the House Appropriations Committee.
Four members including, Joseph Knollenerg (R-Michigan), Jesse Jackson (D-Illinois), Nita Lowey (D-NY) and Steve Rothman (D-NJ).
The meeting focussed on bilateral co-operation in various areas, including United State's assistance to Pakistan, Pak-India relations, issue of Jammu and Kashmir, war on terror and non-proliferation.
According to the Embassy sources, the Congresswoman, Lowey and three legislators lauded Pakistan's role in war on terror, especially the ongoing operations against terrorists in the tribal areas.
They expressed deep appreciation for the President General Pervez Musharraf's wise and courageous leadership in handling the issue of international terror and extremism, nuclear proliferation and building peace in South Asia.
