Encounter with dacoits: six cops rewarded for demonstrating courage

A cash award of Rs 24,000/- has been given to six police officials for demonstrating courage and bravery and showing the best professional performance in an encounter with the dacoits and highwaymen in police station Thekriwala area.
The amount of award was distributed among the police officials by Chairman District Public Safety Commission, Faisalabad, Mian Muhammed Latif and DPO Cap. Muhammad Amin Waince (Retd) during a meeting of the Commission.
The district police had given Rs 12,000/- while an equal amount was given by the DPSC Chairman, Mian Muhammad Latif.
The DPO expressing his views on this occasion said that the security system introduced at the Union Council level was yielding very encouraging results. It may be recalled that this system was introduced in PS Theekriwala on March 23, this year and on March 25, the police officials patrolling on motorbikes, on receipt of an information, followed a car of the robbers, who were involved in various incidents of looting the people.
These police officials killed one of the robbers and arrested the other culprit by showing a marvellous deed of courage and bravery.
The culprits moving about in a suspicious car were involved in various incidents of dacoities since long and had created trouble for the people of the area. By achieving an exemplary co-operation of the people in this encounter, the morale of the district police had reasonably enhanced and the DPSC chief had appreciated the courage and sense of duty of the police officials.
The police employees getting cash awards in the successful encounter include Muhammad Irshad, Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Riaz, Muhammad Yaqaoob, Mohayuddin and Asif Mumtaz.
