Schoomaker meets Musharraf

General Peter Schoomaker, Chief of Staff, United States Army, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan, called on President General Pervez Musharraf here on Tuesday.
General Schoomaker thanked the president and army for the hospitality being extended to him and members of the delegation. He termed his interaction with the military leadership in Pakistan excellent.
Welcoming the dignitary, President Musharraf recalled excellent ties that existed between the armed forces of Pakistan and the United States. He wished General Schoomaker a pleasant and professionally rewarding stay in the country.
He expressed the hope that the US general's visit would help in further strengthening the excellent relations between the armies of the two countries. They also exchanged views on the prevailing international and regional geo-strategic situation.
US ambassador in Pakistan and other senior military officials were also present on the occasion.
