All lecturers to be granted Grade 18: vice chancellor

In response to Higher Education Commission's directive, the Punjab University (PU) has submitted a list of PhD lecturers so that their promotion cases could be decided.
The PU Vice Chancellor (VC), Arshad Mahmood revealed this while talking to the members of academic staff here on Friday.
He said that the university had suggested that in addition to PhD lecturers, all other lecturers should also be granted Grade 18.
The Prime Minister had agreed to a proposal put forwarded by the Higher Education Commission regarding the up-gradation of PhD lecturers, and the commission had asked all the universities to submit list of the PhD lecturers for consideration of their promotion to next grade, he maintained.
The VC said the university was equally focusing on the training of teachers and human resource development and a human resource centre had been established to develop human resource for good governance and management in teaching and research.
The Human Resource Development Centre had conducted various refresher courses for training of the university teachers.
EXAMS SCHEDULE: The Punjab University (PU) has announced the schedule of holding MBBS and LLB examinations.
According to a notification of the university, the MBBS First Professional Annual Examination 2003 would commence from April 27, while LLB Part III Supplementary Examination 2003 will start from May 14.
Meanwhile the B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology Supplementary Examination 2002 and Annual Examination 2003 will begin from May 12 for which admission form with single fee can be submitted till April 20 and with double fee till April 30.
