A concrete policy based on integrated approach having key focus on employment generation is necessary to ensure economic stability and rapid development of industrial sector of the country.
Director General, Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI), Athar Mahmood Khan on Friday told APP that industrialisation should be done in a manner which encourages use of local raw material and generates maximum employment opportunities.
"Appropriate education is the base for human development", Attar said. Athar said human resource was an important factor in production. A good project should be provided with funds and raw materials to enable it produce cheaper goods by engaging skilled and trained labour force.
PMI is addressing these crucial areas and conducting training courses, seminars, workshops and symposiums at labour related issues to impart knowledge-based skills and attitudinal change in labourers' behaviour, he added.
He said that the institute has so far organised 136 National In-Service Courses, 25 seminars and workshops of national and regional level which were attended by 5600 senior officials, professionals and trade union leaders.
The institute has published 32 research studies, 20 research reports and 87 research papers in the areas of human resource development, employment promotion, globalisation, labour issues, child labour and gender bias.
