Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has said there is no issue of sectarianism in the province as is evident from sectarian peace and harmony prevailing in the provincial capital and other parts of the province.
Talking to a delegation here, he said that certain anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan elements were engaged in the past to disrupt people's peace and harmony. But timely action by the government has countered their malicious activity and contained and controlled the situation.
About govt decision for three months ban on religious and political processions, Ghani said it was in the supreme interest of the people's peace and security of their property.
BOYCOTT: The Balochistan Bar Association boycotted courts in Quetta on Friday to protest against the misbehaviour of Quetta district jail officials. Several leading lawyers demanded severe action against the officials involved in the matter.
They called for unity in the rank and file of the lawyers community to fight for their rights in a legal and constitutional way.
HEROIN SEIZED: The police arrested two Iranians at Panjgur (Makran) and seized from them 20 bags of high class heroin worth millions of dollars.
The seizure followed hot chase by the police of a vehicle bound for Panjgur from Iran. After exchange of fire, the vehicle tyre was burst, forcing the smugglers to surrender, with 20 bags of heroin.
