The Nazim Gulshan Town, Abdul Wahab khan has said that construction of pedestrian bridge near the entrance of Federal Urdu University was postponed due to some technical problems that would be removed soon but for the time being speed breakers are being constructed to relief the students from traffic hazards.
He expressed these views at a session held at City District Office, which was attended by Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan, EDO Transport, Executive Engineer Water & Sewerage and officers of Advertisement Department.
Gulshan Town Nazim said that when the survey regarding the pedestrian bridge was conducted it was known that the spot where the pillars of the bridge were to be installed, a 33" sewerage line was passing through the same spot that could be hazardous for the bridge shortly after its construction, that's why the project was halted.
City Nazim directed the concerned officers to immediately shift the sewerage line through co-ordination and directed the advertising department to remove hoardings from the site, he further ordered that bridge should be completed within two months.
