Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that Punjab Industrial Policy guarantees promotion of industrialisation, eradication of unnecessary interference of government institutions in industrial affairs and protection of rights of the working class.
The Chief Minister expressed these views while presiding a meeting to review pace of implementation of Punjab Industrial Policy, on Saturday.
Pervaiz stated that self-assessment system, enforced for ascertaining contribution from factories under Social Security Act has proved to be highly successful. He said in order to make this system even more effective, co-operation of industrialists was highly essential.
The Chief Minister averred that present government was enforcing a comprehensive strategy aimed at welfare and progress of the labour class, which include providing them residential facilities within labor colonies, construction of hospitals within factories, to enable the workers to have the medical facility nearer to their work place.
Pervaiz Elahi said that programme has been launched to set up 20 hospitals consisting of hundred beds each, in various industrial zones of the Province.
'Educational institutions were also being built for working class', he added.
