Socio-political circles have appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister and President Pakistan Muslim League to take immediate steps for purging double-faced so-called Muslim League leaders, who are involved in breaking the party discipline.
In a press statement they said: "High-ups of the Sialkot District Government and Tehsil Municipal Administration are disobeying and negating party discipline as a result of which the Pakistan Muslim League is facing threats of split in Sialkot district."
These circles urged the high-ups of the party to take disciplinary action against both the Nazims immediately and remove them from their posts in the larger interest of the party and the citizens of Sialkot district.
They alleged that both the Nazims during the recent local bodies by-elections have ignored the party candidates and openly supported the candidates of other political parties and thus violated all rules and regulations of the party.
They also alleged that both the Nazims have introduced the politics of liking and disliking as a result of which people are facing serious hardships while many Union Council are being deprived of uplift funds.
"Sialkot District Government and Tehsil Municipal Administration Sialkot have badly failed in resolving the problems of the people of the district," they said, adding, "civic problems are multiplying and the city has been converted into a filth depot but no practical step has so far been taken for the solution the problems."
