The Council of the City District Government Karachi has urged upon the Army Welfare Trust to vacate the occupation of a playground in the Lines Area. The demand was made in a resolution adopted by the City District Council unanimously the other day.
The resolution said that the old Grammar School ground belongs to the City District Government and is part of the Lines Area re-development project.
The meeting in its resolution also expressed full support to the efforts of the city Nazim and concerned Union Council Nazim for getting the occupation of ground back from the Army Welfare Trust.
The Council has also expressed the hope that its resolution calling for a Steering Committee to run the affairs of the Lines Area re-development project and for including the Union Nazims of the area in this committee will be given due consideration by the city Nazim.
It may be mentioned that the office of the City Nazim has not moved in the matter so far despite of unanimous resolution passed by the Council.
