A Turkish company has offered its services to City District Government Karachi (CDGK) for resolving the seepage problem in water supply and sewerage lines once for all.
The offer was made by a company's delegation headed by Turkish Consul General M. Hayatisosal at a meeting with City Nazim Naimatullah Khan here on Tuesday.
Discussing the water supply and sewerage projects planned for Karachi, the delegation informed the nazim that their company had expertise in connecting the plastic pipes with existing underground water supply lines without excavating the land.
They were confident that by using their new technology Karachi could get rid of seepage problem for next hundred years.
Naimatullah Khan directed the EDO Water & Sanitation Shahid Saleem to further exchange the information with regard to this project and examine its technical aspects.
City Nazim told the Turkish delegation that CDGK wanted to change entire system of water supply and sewerage in Lyari area. He asked the delegation to prepare a project for Lyari including survey of domestic and commercial water connections and submit it to the city government.
The Turkish delegation informed that after agreement on certain matters, the technology could be transferred to Karachi.
