Logistics command of Pakistan Navy handed over to commodore Nayyar

Vice-Admiral Farooq Rashid on Saturday handed over the Logistics Command of Pakistan Navy to the newly appointed Commander Logistics commodore Nayyar Iqbal in an impressive change of command ceremony held here at PN Dockyard.
Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing Commander Logistics Vice Admiral Farooq Rashid said the Logistics Command is a vital and most significant organ of any naval force.
He said that it is indeed a matter of pride that Pakistan Navy Dockyard has entered into an era of indigenous construction of ships and submarine, and during the last couple of decades, a number of mine-hunters, missile craft, first patrol crafts and submarine were indigenously constructed or completely overhauled at PN Dockyard resulting in huge saving of country's foreign exchange.
"This is all because of the dedicated efforts and selfless devotion of Dockyard's engineers and technicians," he added.
He further expressed satisfaction over the excellent job performed by officers and personnel of Logistics Command in keeping the fleet's sovereignty and in an operational.
Earlier, Vice Admiral Farooq Rashid presented an insignia to the newly appointed Commander Logistics commodore Nayyar Iqbal as a mark of handing over the command.
Later, commodore Nayyar Iqbal in his speech reaffirmed that all the projects assigned to the Logistics Command by the Naval Headquarters will Inshaallah be completed timely. He praised the professional approach of his predecessor and assured to follow his policies and guidelines with same zeal and devotion.
Earlier, on his arrival commodore Nayyar Iqbal was presented guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent.
He inspected the guard and appreciated its turn out. He was also introduced to staff officers and commanding officers of PN establishments under the Logistics Command.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior naval officers and officers of Pakistan Navy.
