Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has said that all possible resources are being utilised in a transparent manner to eliminate poverty and ignorance in the country.
He expressed these views as chief guest at a function 'Chakar-e-Azam' at Satgara near here on Sunday. The minister said that the present government was determined to uplift the socio-economic condition of the masses as well as the progress and prosperity of the country.
He announced a sum of Rs 500,000 for the repair of mazar of Mir Chakar Khan Rind Baloch. Paying rich tribute to Chakar-e-Azam, he urged the local Baloch tribe to take steps for the development of the area.
The minister further urged the Baloch tribe to offer every sacrifice to promote unity and brotherhood in the light of the teachings of and tradition set by Mir Chakar Khan Baloch in the society.
Speaking on the occasion former president Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari stressed the need of uplifting less developed areas at par with developed ones and providing justice to poor segment of the society. He termed the injustices as the root cause of all evils.
District Nazim, Okara, Syed Sajjad Haider speaking on this occasion also announced Rs 50,000 for the construction of mazar of Chakar-e-Azam.
Earlier, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari laid a 'chaddar' at the mazar of 'Chakar-e-Azam' and offered fateha.
