2005 will be the year of elections: Pagara

Pir Syed Ali Mardan Shah Pagara, President of Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) chairing the Central Executive of his party here on Sunday said that they while opposed to merger of their party, stood for unity amongst Muslim League factions.
Pir Saheb said that he has allowed Qanwar Qutubudin and Sultan Mahmood Khan senior leaders of his party to negotiate for unity in Muslim Leagues.
Talking about his chances of leading united Muslim League, he said it did not matter, what was important is the unity of the Muslim Leagues, he added.
Pir Pagara answering a question on return of PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif to Pakistan, he said the question should be asked to the relevant quarters instead of him, he added.
Replying to another question on arrival of Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan, Pir Saheb said on her return Zardari would be out and she would be in the jail, he stated.
Pir Saheb Pagara answering about possibilities of fresh elections stated that 2005 was the year of elections.
The PML-F head denied that there was any rift between him and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and said that he had no objection on his being president of united Muslim League.
Pir Sadru-Din Raashdi Minister for Irrigation Sindh dilating his views on construction of any mega dam in the country said that it should be made with consensus of all the four provinces.
He said that point of discord on water issue between provinces must finish and nation should move ahead with unity, he stressed.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah talking to press on the occasion stated that there was no campaign against Punjab in Sindh.
When asked his view on Kalabagh dam, he averred that certain reservations were voiced on the issue in the Province, however he would not give his own point of view on the subject, he added.
A total of 13 provincial and federal legislators including two provincial ministers Syed Sadru-Din Raashdi, Chaudhry Ifthikar Ahmed, Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah participated in the meeting.
