General Secretary, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) (NWFP), Senator Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan has said that the Wana operation is being conducted to serve American interests.
"It is part of an international agenda and not according to the aspirations of the people of Pakistan," Naseeb told the first day of a two-day JUI training congregation in Mingora on Friday.
He said that by conducting the Wana operation, 'America wants to damage the relations of Pakistan and Afghanistan'. He also said the government has tried to ignore the role of parliament and to disrespect it.
The JUI NWFP deputy general secretary, Mufti Kifayat Ullah said on the occasion that his party has adopted true democratic ways and as a result won the hearts of people of one province.
He was optimistic that this would soon happen in all the provinces of the country. He warned against any hurdles in the way of JUI struggle.
Provincial Minister for Agriculture Qari Mehmood, while addressing the congregation, said that the provincial government is taking steps to eliminate the problems of the masses. However, he stated that the central government is imposing itself on them and making it difficult for them to solve people's problems.
He also said that until the judicial system is resurrected, it is useless to expect justice.
