Left-arm quickie Irfan Pathan, fast becoming a nemesis for Pakistan, wants to prove his mettle with the bat too.
He had extended batting practice at the nets on Sunday-long after his team-mates had returned to the dressing room, in preparation of third and final Test beginning here on Tuesday. "He wants to prove himself with the bat too", said the Indian coach, John Wright of New Zealand, who worked with Irfan Pathan at the nets.
Irfan has proved one of India's main bowlers in the series but is also improving his batting-in emulation of his idol, former Pakistan all-rounder Wasim Akram.
