Pakistan Industrial & Traders Association Front (Piaf) while appreciating the record increase in membership of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) described it as a result of best planning, co-ordinated efforts and team-work.
In a statement issued here Monday, Piaf central leader and convenor LCCI standing committee on membership, Mubashar Sheikh said that during first six months of current year, LCCI had registered 2,434 new members in Associate Class and 50 new members in Chamber Class while during the last year, only 2,400 new businesses got membership of the Chamber.
He said that the membership standing committee had been reorganised, incorporated with effective members, who could give more time to the Chamber and have strong connections in industrial areas and markets.
He said that bogus membership, which brought bad name would be eliminated while justified membership would be encouraged.
