The Chief Minister NWFP was shown doling out text books to primary school students in the CM house on PTV News on April 8.
Did he realise the suffering, the agony and the torture that this photo session eulogising the CM's most charitable act caused the poor young ones who were herded there early in the morning and had to wait for hours without a drink or food just to appear before the glittering and flashing lights of TV and other cameras?
Why could the books not be distributed by the Head Master/Mistress in their own schools at the convenience of all and that would have been a highly befitting occasion to be televised?
But, alas, can our leaders rise above their petty consideration of gaining cheap political mileage, to the noble heights of giving due honour to the teachers that they deserve?
