Singapore bunker or ship fuel prices were flat on Tuesday as sluggish post-holiday demand countered support from an overnight rise in benchmark crude.
Dealers said 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel oil was talked in a wide range of $173-$177 a tonne, with 180-cst prices at about $180-$184 a tonne, both grades mostly flat from Monday.
"Today is the first day back from the holiday weekend so trade is thin, as expected," a Singapore-based trader at a western oil major said.
Many ship-owners were on public holiday on Friday and again on Monday.
Marine gas oil was underpinned by a rise in benchmark middle distillates cargo prices and pegged at about $295 a tonne, mostly steady from Monday, dealers said.
